The following two short story competitions each have a 1st prize of AU$2000, are for stories of 2000-4000 words, run until August 31st 2013, and are open to writers worldwide.

The Life and Times of Chester Lewis Fan Fiction Competiton
– for short stories aimed at adult/general readers
– primary settings: Perth/Margaret river region of Western Australia from the 1930s to 2030s, the Whitsunday Islands in Queensland in the 1970s and 1980s, England in the 1960s, Shanghai in 1931

Possessing Freedom Fan Fiction Competition
– for short stories aimed at teen/young adult readers
– primary setting: Melbourne in 2026 with a supernatural element
