I have a new time favorite Author. Virginia Higgins who wrote Faerytale.
I recently read her book which I purchased at a literary event in Yamba. After hearing her speak, and tell the story of writing her book, I was so intrigued that I purchased the book, got her to sign it and went home and started reading. I couldn’t put it down. It is an amazing story. It’s different, and it draws you in, then turns your head and heart inside out. I can’t wait for the second one. I have since given the book to my mother, who has also commented how wonderful this story is.
I also heard her daughter sing at the event in Yamba and that was a treat. Gillian has a beautiful voice, and is an amazing singer. She is also a bubbly happy and charming child. Absolute credit to her mother. I can’t wait for the album to be released, not only do I love the book, I love the music that was written for it, its haunting, original and bright.
Virginia spoke extremely well, confidently and straight from the heart. I believe that she will go along way. I hope that Australia really gets behind her and what she is achieving, she is an inspiration to all of us who get lost in our day to day worlds. Having found a way to include her beautiful children into her amazing creation is wonderful.
I know that it takes time to become known and her time will come. One day, and I believe it won’t be too far away, this author will be a house hold name. I am proud to have seen her speak for the first time, and see the sincerity of her words. Loving your creation and believing in yourself is the first step to any kind of success. WELL DONE!
